2. TutorBunch – Rights & Responsibilities

This clause sets out what TutorBunch promises to do:

2.1 To help Tutors and Students to meet by allowing Tutors to advertise their professional tuition services on the Website, and Students to book and pay for Lessons.

2.2 To maintain a functioning Website, including communication systems, a booking platform and Online Classroom, wherever possible. TutorBunch cannot guarantee that the Website will always be available, or that it will always work, but it will try to have it up and running properly, at all times. Every now and again, the Website might need to be taken offline for maintenance purposes.

2.3 To communicate any planned maintenance of the Website or downtime.

2.4 To use reasonable endeavours to keep the Website free from viruses and worms.

2.5 To use reasonable endeavours to check the identity of all Tutors and the background checks of Tutors who have Background Checked Status. Despite checks, we forbid any contacts made with Tutors outside of the Website, and any Student who does, do so at their own risk. We require Students and Tutors to inform us with immediate effect if any User takes steps to engage with them away from the Website.

2.6 To decide when a Tutor’s profile is sufficiently complete to be set live on the Website and be accessible to other Users.

2.7 To communicate new Bookings, confirmation of Bookings and cancellations, to both Students and Tutors via the Website and/or by email.

2.8 To endeavour to ensure that each Student’s payment of Lesson Fees and the payment of each Tutor’s Tutor Fees are processed promptly and usually within 14 days of a Lesson, when there is no Complaint or Failed Payment.

2.9 To endeavour to ensure Complaints are considered promptly and in accordance with these terms and conditions.

2.10 To endeavour to ensure that refunds to Students are made promptly in accordance with these terms and conditions.

2.11 To endeavour to ensure that Failed Payments are processed promptly and in accordance with these terms and conditions.

2.12 To take precautions TutorBunch considers appropriate to protect Students’ and Tutors’ information.

2.13 To monitor postings made on the Website and messages sent between Students and Tutors. TutorBunch does so in the hope of keeping children safe, helping Students and Tutors meet, but also to stop misuse of the Website, as set out in these terms and conditions.

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Users are responsible for their own security in conjunction with the services through the Website, both online and offline.

3.2 Users are solely responsible for the material they post on the Website, including messages sent, and they must not post defamatory, offensive or illegal materials.

3.3 Users must immediately report to TutorBunch any defamatory, offensive or illegal material they view on the Website.

3.4 Users must exercise their own judgement regarding the accuracy of information provided on the Website. TutorBunch cannot and does not guarantee that all of the content on the Website is complete, accurate or up-to-date.

3.5 Users must contact TutorBunch immediately if they believe their password has been compromised. Users will be responsible for the actions of any interactions conducted in their name until they have notified TutorBunch that they believe their password has been compromised.

3.6 Users must not use the Website with the intention of engaging directly with other Users outside of the TutorBunch environment. Users must not promote opportunities or services of any company other than TutorBunch on the Website.

3.7 TutorBunch forbids engagement of any kind between Student and Tutor outside of the TutorBunch environment. We require Users to inform us with immediate effect if any User take steps to engage with them away from the Website.

3.8 Users agree to abide by the Privacy Policy provided through the Website.

3.9 Any User who fails, in TutorBunch’s opinion, to comply with these terms and conditions may be immediately suspended from using the Website and any related services, with possible cancellation of existing bookings. If warranted, TutorBunch reserves the right to permanently delete the account of such User and cancel any existing bookings in such circumstances.

4. Student Responsibilities

4.1 TutorBunch is not responsible for the acts or omissions of Students or Tutors and is solely responsible for its own acts or omissions.

4.2 Should a User under the age of 18 attempt to register as a Student on the TutorBunch website, they will be asked to inform a parent/guardian in order to be able to proceed, unless if they are aged 13 to 17, which would allow them to input parent/guardian’s email, inviting them to the Site to register. All related data to the Parent/Guardian invite will be deleted after 48 hours if no response is received.

4.3 Students must be at least 18 years old to book a Lesson for themselves. Students under the age of 18 must be represented by a parent or legal guardian who gives consent for them to receive tuition from a Tutor via TutorBunch. Such parent/guardian will in addition to their parent account create a minor account for their child(ren) or ward. A parent/guardian agrees to oversee all minor accounts connected to their account, and take full responsibility for such accounts, maintaining complete and consistent oversight of tutor communications. Parents agree to book Lessons via the account of the child(ren) connected to their account, should they be of the view that such arrangement allow for easier administration, especially in the case of families with multiple children. TutorBunch recommends that Lessons be booked under the account of the minor who the Lesson is for but respect parents/guardian’s wishes in this matter. TutorBunch is not responsible for any dispute between a person under the age of 18 and their parent or guardian. Parents/Guardians may also make payment for their own personal Lessons with a Tutor, should they require such services.

4.4 Students must ensure that all of their personal details and contact information are accurate and up-to-date. TutorBunch will contact Students by email and/or via the messaging board of TutorBunch.

4.5 When wanting to confirm a Booking, the Student must ensure that they have a valid debit/credit card registered on the Website, with sufficient funds to cover the Booking.

4.6 To confirm a Booking for their first Lesson with a Tutor, the Student must enter, or have already entered, valid payment details on the Website.

4.7 By confirming their Booking for their first Lesson with a Tutor, the Student authorises the Tutor to make further Bookings on their behalf, as agreed with the Student, and authorises TutorBunch to take payment of its Service Fee and to take, as agent for the Tutor, payment of the Tutor Fee for each Lesson (which combine to form the total Lesson Fee), in accordance with these terms and conditions. However, for further Bookings made by a Tutor on behalf of a Student after the first Lesson to be confirmed, payment would need to have been received via the TutorBunch website.

4.8 When a Booking is confirmed, the Student enters into a direct contract with the Tutor for the provision of Lessons and TutorBunch accepts no liability in relation to the Tutor’s provision of lessons.

4.9 Students agree not to circumvent or disintermediate, or attempt to circumvent or disintermediate TutorBunch in any way at the time of booking any Tutor, during any period of confirmed Bookings with any Tutor or at any time within twelve months of the date of the most recent Booking with the relevant Tutor (the “Student Restriction Period”) and that, save where TutorBunch has barred the Student or Tutor in accordance with clause 4.14, all future Lessons within the Student Restriction Period with a Tutor found through the Website will be booked through TutorBunch.

4.10 Students must ensure that they have given enough information to the Tutor about their learning needs and style, including any other necessary information, to allow the Lesson to take place and the time maximised to the benefit of the Student’s learning and progress.

4.11 Students must use their own judgement about the services of Tutors detailed on the Website. Although TutorBunch undertakes certain checks to assess the suitability of each Tutor prior to setting their profile live on the Website, Students are responsible for checking the credentials, expertise, references, qualifications and insurance policies of any Tutor with whom they confirm a Booking.

4.12 Students are responsible for checking that Bookings made by Tutors on their behalf are done correctly, and understand they will be informed of these Lessons by email and/or through the Website.

4.13 Students are responsible for ensuring that they have the correct equipment to be able to access the Online Classroom prior to an Online Lesson. No refunds will be made in the event that Students are unable to access the Online Classroom for whatever reason, save where such inability to access the Online Classroom arises as a result of TutorBunch failing to provide the services outlined in clause 2.2 of these terms and conditions.

4.14 Any Student who fails, in TutorBunch’s reasonable opinion, to comply with these terms and conditions may be immediately barred from using the Website and any related services. TutorBunch reserves the right to cancel any existing Bookings in such circumstances.

4.15 Cancellations: Students may cancel any Booking, without incurring any charge, by giving more than 24 hours’ notice.

4.16 Nothing in these terms and conditions affects a Student’s statutory rights.

4.17 Simply by agreeing to these terms and conditions, a Student is not required to sign up with any Tutor or make any Bookings.

4.18 Subject to paying for any Bookings used, a Student may cease to use the TutorBunch service at any time.

4.19 Students agree to not use any means to record lessons separately to TutorBunch. This includes storing or sharing them.

5. Tutor Status and Responsibilities

5.1 Tutors are not employees of TutorBunch and are solely responsible for their own actions both on and off the Website.

5.2 Tutors must be at least 13 years old. Tutors aged 13 years – 17 years require parental or guardian approval to use the Service.

5.3 Tutors must be legally entitled (possessing the relevant immigration status where relevant) to work in the UK on a self-employed basis.

5.4 If Tutors contact Students who are under 18, they must ensure that these Students are represented by a parent or legal guardian who gives consent for the Student to receive tuition. There are badges on Students’ accounts if they are minors, so Tutor can be aware.

5.5 Tutors are responsible for ensuring that the personal information they provide and their personal statements on the Website are accurate and in no way misleading. They must update this information promptly to maintain its accuracy.

5.6 Tutors must disclose any criminal convictions or cautions they may have to TutorBunch, including any criminal convictions or cautions received at any time after having registered a tutor account on the Website and for as long as the Tutor remains registered.

5.7 All Tutors shall have Background Checked Status, and shall continue to be covered by such checks whilst registered as a tutor on the Website, and for as long as the Tutor remains registered. Tutors shall provide TutorBunch with a copy of evidence of such status upon request.

5.8 Any Tutor who, in TutorBunch’s opinion, fails to comply with these terms and conditions may be immediately barred from using the Website and related services. TutorBunch reserves the right to cancel any existing Bookings at any time in such circumstances.

5.9 Tutors must use their own judgement about whether they wish to offer their tuition services to each individual Student. Tutors must take every precaution to ensure that they work in a safe environment and are responsible for taking out and maintaining their own insurance policies to cover the work they undertake.

5.10 Tutors are responsible for setting their own fee (“Tutor Fee”). They must not undercut TutorBunch and must, therefore, set their Tutor Fee on the Website for an amount which is as good as the fee they offer to students outside of TutorBunch.

5.11 Tutors agree that they will be ranked on the Website based on a mixture of profile data, including but not limited to their presence online, Student ratings and number of Lessons taught. Positive Student ratings, prompt messaging, repeat Bookings and a greater amount of Lessons taught may contribute to Tutors being ranked higher on the Website’s search engine results. TutorBunch reserves the right to change the way Tutors are ranked at any time.

5.12 Tutors can make Bookings for Lessons on behalf of Students, if requested by the Student. Whenever a Tutor books a Lesson on behalf of a Student, a payment link will be sent to the Student.

5.13 Tutors are to respond to messages received from TutorBunch and Users promptly.

5.14 For any meetings (including lessons, trials or assessing student need) with a Student found via TutorBunch’s Website, Tutors must make a Booking to account for this time, using the Website. Tutors agree not to solicit Students or disintermediate TutorBunch, or attempt to solicit Students or disintermediate TutorBunch, in any way, at the time of booking any Lesson with any Student, during any period of confirmed Bookings with any Student or at any time within twelve months of the date of the most recent Booking with the relevant Student (the “Tutor Restriction Period”).

5.15 Tutors must only make Bookings for Lessons in accordance with the instructions of their Students. If Tutors make Bookings for additional Lessons which they fail to deliver, they will be liable to refund to the Student any Tutor Fee they have received for any such Bookings, including any extra charges incurred by TutorBunch in processing such.

5.16 Should a Student not attend a Lesson for which they have a Booking, Tutors must attempt to contact the Student via TutorBunch Website and be able to provide evidence of the contacts made at approximately 5 minutes into the lesson, approximately 15 minutes into the Lesson and finally approximately 30 minutes into the lesson for Lessons with the total scheduled duration of one hour. For shorter scheduled Lesson durations, Tutors must attempt to contact the Student via TutorBunch Website and be able to provide evidence of the contacts made at approximately 5 minutes into the lesson and finally at approximately 15 minutes into the Lesson. Tutors should be available in the TB Online Classroom from the scheduled start time of a Lesson to the end time for Students to attend the Lesson, and for Lessons to commence whenever the Student joins. If Tutors fail to carry out the approximate 5, 15 and 30 minutes contact rule or the 5 and 15 minutes contact rule, whichever applies, they will be liable to refund to the Student any Tutor Fee they have received for the relevant booking, and any applicable payment gateway commissions associated with such transfers, if any.

5.17 Tutors must not complete or intend to complete coursework, or any similar assignments, on behalf of Students. Tutors are to instead offer support which develops students’ critical thinking skills, aids the completion process, allowing deeper understanding of concepts and consolidation of gained knowledge.

5.18 Tutors must ensure that all written communication with Students takes place via the Website. This includes communication needed to organise Bookings, arrange Lessons and all other types and forms of communication.

5.19 Tutors shall indemnify TutorBunch for all claims and liabilities arising out of any use by the Tutor of the Website, including any costs and expenses incurred.

5.20 Tutors are responsible for ensuring that they have the correct equipment to be able to access the Online Classroom prior to an Online Lesson. Tutors will be liable to refund any fees received for an Online Lesson in the event that they are unable to access the Online Classroom for whatever reason, save where such inability to access the Online Classroom arises as a result of TutorBunch failing to provide the services outlined in clause 2.2 of these terms and conditions.

5.21 Tutors are responsible for ensuring that they know how to access the correct online Lesson location/space for each Lesson on the Website, and that they are at the Lesson location/space ready to teach at the agreed time, as booked on the Website. Tutors who are late for a Lesson must provide evidence that they contacted the Student via the TutorBunch Website to make them aware of their lateness and that the Student was happy to take the Lesson at a later time. Any Tutors who fail to do so will be liable to refund to the Student any Tutor fee they have received for the relevant booking.

5.22 Users acknowledge that all lessons participated in may be recorded and agree to the storage and use of such recordings by TutorBunch.

5.23 Tutors acknowledge and agree to recordings being shared with Students and their parents/guardians where applicable.

6. Payment

6.1 The Lesson Fee payable by a Student for a Lesson will be displayed on the Website at the time of confirming a Booking. The Lesson Fee will also be displayed on the Student’s lessons dashboard on the Website, in Lesson reminder emails and, following Lessons, in emails confirming receipt of payment. Where an increase in a Lesson Fee is proposed, notice of such increase will be posted on the Website.

6.2 A Lesson Fee is the combination of the Tutor Fee and TutorBunch’s Service Fees, which will be collected by Stripe, or any other payment gateway of choice, on behalf of TutorBunch. All fees include any applicable VAT or other sales tax.

6.3 The Service Fee is payable by the Student in exchange for the provision of the services listed in clause 2 of these terms and conditions. The Service Fee will be determined by applying a determined percentage increase to the Tutor Fee.

6.4 The Student authorises TutorBunch to instruct Stripe, or any other payment gateway chosen by TutorBunch, to charge their credit/debit card once they initiate the Booking of a Lesson.

6.5 If any Student cancels a Booking less than 24 hours before the relevant Lesson is due to commence, the decision to provide the Lesson at a different scheduled time is solely at the discretion of the Tutor, upon receiving such request from the Student.

6.6 If any Student makes a Complaint (claiming for a Missed Lesson or raising a refund request), upon investigation by TutorBunch which results in an outcome that verifies Student’s claim as viable, charges may nevertheless be processed as usual to collect payment, and refunded as appropriate if already processed, in accordance with these terms and conditions.

6.7 For Online Lessons, Students will be charged the full Lesson Fee, provided the Tutor attended the Online Classroom for at least 75% of the scheduled Lesson duration. No charge will be made to the Student if a Tutor does not attend at least 75% of the scheduled Lesson duration, giving the Student sufficient opportunities to be reminded and attend as detailed in clause 5.16.

6.8 If a Lesson does not take place because a Student does not attend, the Student will be charged the full Lesson Fee.

6.9 Payment processing services on TutorBunch’s Website are provided by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd trading as Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement – United Kingdom (together, the “Stripe Terms”). By agreeing to these terms and conditions or continuing to operate as a Tutor on TutorBunch’s Website, the Tutor agrees to be bound by the Stripe Terms, as the same may be modified or amended by Stripe from time to time; and Tutor agrees to provide TutorBunch with accurate and complete information about themselves and, where relevant, their business, and each Tutor authorises TutorBunch to share with Stripe such information and transaction information related to Tutor’s use of the payment processing services provided by Stripe. The same applies to any online payment system or wallet adopted by TutorBunch for the purpose of collecting payment for Lesson Bookings. TutorBunch reserves the right to use any designated online payment processor/system on its Website.

6.10 Stripe normally transfers a Tutor’s Tutor Fee from the Tutor’s Stripe connected account to the Tutor’s nominated account within 9 days following a Lesson, provided the relevant ID has been provided and passes Stripe’s verification process.

6.11 Tutor’s earnings may be held in Escrow until Stripe’s verification requirement is completed.

7. Cancellations

7.1 A Student may cancel a Booking, without charge, by giving at least 24 hours’ notice before the scheduled start time of the Lesson.

7.2 Cancellations made 24 or more hours before a Lesson is due to commence will incur no charge.

7.3 When a Booking is cancelled by a Student less than 24 hours before a Lesson is due to commence, TutorBunch leaves it to the Tutor’s discretion whether to accept the cancellation request and not charge any Lesson Fee, or to charge the Student either 50% or 100% of the Lesson Fee, as displayed at the time of confirming their Booking. Unless instructed otherwise by the Tutor, TutorBunch will, as the Tutor’s agent, automatically instruct Stripe or any online payment system adopted by TutorBunch, to charge the Student 50% of the Lesson Fee, and payment will be processed in accordance with these terms and conditions.

7.4 A Student may only cancel a Lesson by cancelling the relevant Booking on the Website. Failure to do so may result in charges still being made to a Student’s account.

7.5 Tutors may cancel a Booking at any time prior to a Lesson taking place. To do so, Tutors must inform the Student directly via the Website and cancel the Booking on the Website. In the event of a Tutor cancelling a Booking where the reason given shows that they are not cancelling on behalf of the Student, the Student will not be charged any Lesson Fee or, if the Student has paid the Lesson Fee, will receive a full refund.

7.6 Bookings cannot be cancelled after the Lesson has started. Lessons which are not cancelled by the Student before the start time but are not attended by the Student will be charged at their full price. If there are extenuating circumstances surrounding the Lesson cancellation then a full refund may be made at the discretion of the Tutor and TutorBunch.

8. Rules of TutorBunch Reward Programme

8.1 The TutorBunch Reward Programme provides varying pathways for active students and registered Tutors to earn TB Points and TB Credits through qualified transactions, platform engagement and referrals.

8.2 For every £1 spent on verified paid Lessons, Students will automatically be awarded 1 TB Point.

8.3 For Parents/Students, earned TB Points can be converted into TB Credits and used to pay for future Lessons on the TutorBunch Website. TB Points are converted at a fixed rate: 100 TB Points = £1 TB Credit.

8.4 Users must have a minimum balance of 500 TB Points in their account to initiate a redemption.

8.5 All TB Points and TB Credits are subject to an expiration period.

8.6 TB Points must be redeemed within 12 months from the date they are issued. Any unused points after this 12-month rolling period will automatically expire and be removed from the user’s account.

8.7 TB Referrals is a key part of the TutorBunch Reward Programme. It allows both existing users and tutors to earn rewards by inviting new students to the Website, who also get rewarded. Rewards are issued as TB Credits (Lesson Credits) to both Students — the Referrer (who referred a paying User) and Referee (the referred User). Tutors are rewarded with cash payout (£5) deposited directly into their bank for every qualifying Student referred.

8.8 Referees must sign up using the Referrer’s specific tracking link.

8.9 £5 TB Credit will be awarded to the Referee after they have attended their first five paid booked Lessons.

8.10 £5 TB Credit will be awarded to the Referrer after the referee has attended their first five paid booked Lessons.

8.11 Referrers must be existing TutorBunch account holders. Referees must not have already registered with TutorBunch.

8.12 All five lessons must be fully paid, attended, and marked as complete.

8.13 The five lessons must be completed within 3 months of registration.

8.14 In the event of a Referee booking but not attending their Lesson, Credit will not be added to the referrer’s account. If credit has previously been awarded, it will be cancelled. Cancelled, refunded, or disputed lessons do not count towards the five-lesson total.

8.15 TB Credit will not be awarded if the referee books a free video chat. TB Credit can only be earned for paid Lessons.

8.16 Referees and referrers are responsible for any tax implications that may arise from receiving TB Credit.

8.17 TutorBunch reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts suspected of fraudulent activity, misuse of the reward system, or violations of platform guidelines.

8.18 TutorBunch Credit can neither be transferred nor exchanged for cash or cash equivalents by Students/Parents. It cannot be transferred between accounts for any User.

8.19 TutorBunch Credits cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer.

8.20 Any credit awarded through the TB Referral programme will be valid for 3 months. If credit is unused by either the referee or referrer after this period, it will expire.

8.21 TutorBunch reserves the right to cancel any credit awarded in the event of suspicious activity of either the referrer or referee, including self-referrals.

8.22 Our decision around whether a Referee or Referrer is entitled to TB Credit is final and binding.

8.23 Tutors are rewarded for referring other Tutors to the TutorBunch website. A Tutor who refers another Tutor is called a Tutor Referrer while the Tutor being referred is the Tutor Referee. Rewards are initially credited to the Tutor Referrer’s balance as TB Points. Tutors must convert their earned TB Points into TB Credits within their dashboard. TB Credits can be converted into a cash payout. Cash is deposited directly into the Tutor Referrer’s designated, verified bank account.

8.24 For a Tutor Referrer to earn TB Points, their Tutor Referee would need to have successfully completed the onboarding process, and completed at least a paid Lesson. They (Tutor Referrer) would need to be an active Tutor who has conducted multiple Lessons within 90-day periods.

8.25 TB Points award for Tutors are calculated based on the Tutor Fee earned by their Tutor Referee. For every £100 earned in Tutor Fee by a Tutor Referee, their Tutor Referrer gets awarded 100 TB Points.

8.26 Tutor Referrers must be existing and active TutorBunch Tutor account holders. Referees must not have already registered with TutorBunch.

8.27 Cancelled, refunded, or disputed lessons do not count toward the Points that could be acquired.

8.28 Tutor Referrers are responsible for any tax implications that may arise from receiving TB Credits.

8.29 TutorBunch reserves the right to suspend or terminate the account of Tutor Referees or Tutor Referrer if we deem the referral methods fraudulent, misleading or inappropriate.

8.30 TutorBunch reserves the right to cancel any credit awarded in the event of suspicious activity of either the Tutor Referrer or Tutor Referee.

8.31 Our decision around whether a Tutor Referee or Tutor Referrer is entitled to credit is final and binding.

8.32 TutorBunch reserves the right to change the terms and conditions regarding the awarding of credit or suspend the credit referral program at any time for any reason.

9. Missed Lessons and Complaints

9.1 A “Complaint” covers any cause for the Student to seek a refund as a result of the service provided by the Tutor, including, but not limited to, a Missed Lesson (where the Tutor did not attend a Lesson booked on the Website) or a claim about quality (where the Student feels that the service provided by a Tutor falls below the standards they reasonably expected).

9.2 A Student should inform TutorBunch of a Complaint by either chat or email (office@tutorbunch.com) within 96 hours after the scheduled finish time of the relevant Lesson.

9.3 When a complaint has been received from a Student, TutorBunch will contact the Tutor within 72 hours of the complaint being received, by telephone, email, text message or any means possible, to inform the Tutor that a complaint has been raised.

9.4 Should a Student inform TutorBunch of a complaint within 96 hours after the scheduled finish time of the relevant Lesson, the Tutor has 48 hours to inform TutorBunch through the Website of their desire to dispute the complaint (and reject the associated refund request). Should the Tutor not dispute the complaint through the Website within 48 hours of being notified of the complaint, TutorBunch, as the agent of the Tutor, will instruct Stripe or any online payment processor adopted by TutorBunch, to process a full refund to the Student of the Tutor Fee. TutorBunch reserves the right, as a goodwill gesture, to instruct Stripe or any online payment processor adopted by TutorBunch to process a full or partial refund of the Service Fee for the Booking related to the Lesson the complaint is regarding. TutorBunch will promptly inform the Student of the Tutor’s decision whether or not to uphold their complaint by email and, if upheld, authorise the associated refund.

9.5 Should a Student inform TutorBunch of a complaint more than 96 hours after the scheduled finish time of the relevant Lesson, the position of the Student in the matter becomes weakened as it may be too late for TutorBunch to withhold payment while the issue is being resolved. In any case, the Tutor has 48 hours to inform TutorBunch by chat or email of their desire to uphold the complaint (and authorise TutorBunch on the Tutor’s behalf to award the associated refund of the Tutor Fee) or otherwise. TutorBunch strongly encourage Students to make contact as soon as possible after their discontent as doing so enables us to more effectively deal with complaints.

9.6 Should the Student and Tutor not reach an amicable agreement regarding a complaint, the Student is entitled to make a claim against the Tutor in relation to the complaint. TutorBunch accepts no liability in relation to complaints and the services provided by a Tutor, although we will try our best to intervene and get the issue resolved.

9.7 Should TutorBunch find that a Missed Lesson occurred due to any failure of TutorBunch to meet the terms set out in clause 2 of these terms and conditions, TutorBunch will refund the Student any Service Fee paid.

9.8 TutorBunch reserves the right to offer any Student, as a gesture of goodwill, payment of a sum equivalent to the full Lesson Fee. Such a payment will be awarded solely at TutorBunch’s discretion.

10. Child Protection

At TutorBunch, we consider safety of our Users as paramount, especially those who are 13 years – 18 years, and Users who are young adults. We believe that all children have a right to be safe from harm, abuse (physical, sexual, emotional, neglect), and exploitation. We recognise that achieving this requires coordinated efforts from families, communities, organisations, and governments through laws, policies (like the Children Act 1989 in the UK), and consistent practices to identify risks and intervene effectively. Help & FAQ

For Students & Parents
For Tutors
Pricing & Payment
Why does the price I see include more than the tutor's rate?
The price shown is the full Lesson Fee — it already includes a small service fee on top of the tutor's own rate, which helps us run the platform, keep it safe, and support tutors. There's nothing extra to pay at checkout — the price you see is exactly what you'll be charged.
If I cancel a lesson, do I get a refund?
Yes. Cancel 24 hours or more before your lesson and you'll get a full refund automatically. Cancel less than 24 hours before, and you'll get a 50% refund. If you simply don't show up without cancelling, no refund applies, though your tutor may offer to reschedule at their discretion.
How long does a refund take to arrive?
Refunds are processed automatically and usually appear back on your card within a few business days, depending on your bank.
Tutors & Badges
What do the badges (Rising Star, Elite, etc.) mean?
Badges help you understand the type of tutor you're looking at — for example, Rising Star tutors show strong potential, while Elite tutors have a proven track record of excellent results. Badges don't affect price at all — every tutor's price is based purely on the rate they've set.
Are all tutors background-checked?
Tutors go through an application and approval process before appearing on the platform. You won't see a tutor's profile listed publicly until they've been approved.
Lessons & Booking
Can I try a tutor before committing to paid lessons?
Many tutors offer a free 15-minute trial session, shown on their booking page if available. This is a great way to see if their teaching style is a good fit before booking a full paid lesson.
Where do lessons actually take place?
All lessons happen inside our own secure, dedicated online learning space — you don't need Zoom, Skype, or any other app. A link to join is provided automatically once your booking is confirmed.
Can I watch a lesson back afterwards?
Yes — lessons are recorded, and you can access the recording from your profile under "My Lessons" for 90 days after the lesson. After that, recordings are no longer available, so it's worth watching back anything important sooner rather than later.
Messaging & Safety
Why was my message hidden or flagged?
For everyone's safety, our system automatically flags messages that contain things like phone numbers, email addresses, or mentions of other apps (WhatsApp, Zoom, etc.), since all communication and payment needs to stay on the platform. A flagged message is reviewed by our team — if it's a false flag, it'll be restored.
I'm uncomfortable with something a tutor said or did — what do I do?
Use the "Report a Concern" button on your profile page. It goes straight and confidentially to our admin team, who'll review it as a priority.
Can tutors see my contact details?
No — your contact information stays private. All communication happens securely through our own messaging system, not via email or phone.
Referrals
How does the referral program work?
Use your unique referral link (found on your profile) to invite a friend. Once they create a brand new account using your link and complete 5 paid lessons, you'll both receive £5 credit to use toward future lessons. Free trial sessions don't count toward the 5 lessons, and credit expires 3 months after it's awarded.
